2010 Better be Better

Hey its 2010, im feeling great and am diving into life, work and self improvement.
So the last post described my 2009 set backs fairly well. Himself has been very supportive and funnily enough we've been able to get away a few times.
Recently a cousin of mine had her wedding and so we found ourselves in Sydney enjoying the wonders that are there. I'll put up images once all 12+ gig are done, that way you're not having to look at all the boring bits.
This year I may have some weddings lined up and I'll be over the moon if i can get some experience under my belt. Somewhere along the line ill be working on a fantabulous (yes its a word) folio to chuff off to photographers in the industry to see if they would take me on and show me the ropes some.
In the meantime I'm finding a job to trundel along at that doesn't bore me to death but i won't be holding my breath for a studio job just yet hehe.
Well keep an eye on this space...I'll try and do more than 2 posts this year huh? :D

Broken

Haven't been putting anything up recently. Haven't had much to put up. However there is an explanation for it. And it's a good one.
In January i got a full time job in retail. Was working well for a few months, settling in and saving for my car frivolously. Then around the start of April I had to quit my job because of health reasons. It took a few months for me to have tests done etc and finally i worked out there was nothing wrong with me. Physically. Now I'm seeing a dietitian and she's helping me get back in working order.
Now you're probably thinking that in all that time i could have been shooting like like a crazy woman. However about a week before i quit the job my computer that got me thorough my course decided to take a holiday with me. So i still don't have my computer to work on. Nothing else to work with I had to leave the photographing for a bit. The good news is that now me and Himself are able to get a new computer and we should have that hopefully by the end of the month...HOORAY.
So here's looking forward to getting better, taking photos and having fun doing what i love.

Major and minor folio

So below is Night trains a shot out of my Major folio 'Structures of Brisbane, Gold Coast and in between'. It's a 40 image folio and the printed version is in magazine form.
Also below is a shot of Charlie the beagle who inspired my theme of my minor folio 'Smiles'. This was printed as a small hard cover coffee table book and was a 15 image folio.

So thought I'd let you know a bit about myself to start off with. I love animals and love to photograph them. Im engaged to a very handsome big hearted fella. My brothers both use Olive scented body wash and I'm thinking of going towards it myself. Have just nabbed myself a fulltime job at Sussans so hopefully that works out. I haven't joined AIPP yet this year and im still a little undecided as weather or not to. I did have a job as a photography assistant for 2-3 mths last year but didnt work out but from it I learnt that I think I'd like WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY. I did a fulltime 2 year course in Photoimaging and now have a diploma from it. I did my major folio on Structures and my minor on dogs. So ill put the images up from those.
I decided to do this blog because 1) I can't afford a website not that i need one yet and 2) i wanted somewhere where i could put up my frequent shoots im planning on doing this year. Oh and Wendy told me to.
